ADHD ASSESSMENTS

Our hyper-focus on ADHD sets our assessments apart.

We offer Gold-Standard assessments in Wimbledon and Epsom, and online across the UK for ADHD in children, adolescents, and adults.

Recognising ADHD

Undiagnosed, most people with ADHD underperform, are labelled as naughty, disrespectful, disorganised, and live in a perpetual state of overwhelm, with generally low self-esteem.

What to look for in a high-quality assessment?

The BBC recently released a documentary showing the poor standards of practice when it comes to ADHD assessments. This has raised valid concerns for those seeking an assessment.

If we were looking for a top-quality assessment for one of our family members, we would look for the following:

  • An expert in mental health

It takes 10 years to become an expert in something.

  • Uses both questionnaires and an interview

Gathering information from multiple sources improves the quality and validity of the outcome.

  • Works together with other practitioners

Having more than one practitioner looking at the information before making a diagnosis increases the rigor of the diagnostic process.

  • Collects information from other sources

This allows us to collect comprehensive evidence of ADHD symptoms.

  • Looks for other mental health conditions

You want a practitioner who looks beyond ADHD and takes the whole picture of your physical and mental health into consideration.

  • Spends three hours in an interview

Anything less is not sufficient to make a thorough diagnosis.

  • Has links with a prescriber

Look for someone who works closely with a prescriber should you want to access medication.

  • Offers a feedback session

You want a practitioner who will go through the diagnosis and recommendations in detail with you.

We are proud to say

we meet all of the above criteria

In all of our assessments, we follow the guidelines set out by the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE). Our Gold-Standard assessments ADHD assessments in Wimbledon and Epsom are rigorous, regulated, ethical, and widely accepted by the NHS and across the UK.

Post-Diagnostic Support

Following a diagnosis of ADHD, you may want to work with ONE OF our psychologists

in Wimbledon and Epsom who understands the nuances of ADHD well.

The support process often involved strategies for your challenges and leveraging your strengths, and well as reshaping your self-esteem and building confidence.

If you are a parent of a child with ADHD, we can support you in implementing tailored support for your child needs.

ADHD in girls and women

The typical picture in people’s minds when they think of ADHD is the child who can’t sit still, who is disruptive, and who does poorly at school.

For girls, hyperactivity tends to be in the mind - which may mean finding it difficult to switch off and fall asleep.

Girls who are intelligent tend to be particularly good at finding compensatory strategies for ADHD. The cracks usually start to show in a more subtle way when demands go up - living independently, a work promotion, or becoming a parent.

We provide tailored ADHD assessments in Wimbledon, Epsom and online for women and girls, as well as ongoing support to help navigate these challenges and build confidence.
